Abstract
One of the causes of not yet maximized plant productivity is due to the presence of plantdisturbing
organisms (OPT). Armyworm is a pest that attacks many agricultural crops and
is polyphagous. These pest attacks can cause crop loss up to 80% and even experience
puso if not addressed. The countermeasures carried out by most farmers are using
synthetic insecticides because they are quite effective. However, the use of synthetic
insecticides in the long term can have a negative impact. The alternative is by using
vegetable insecticides. One of the plants that can be used is bandotan leaf (Ageratum
conyzoides). This study aimed to test the effectiveness of bandotan leaf extract
(Ageratum conyzoides) as a vegetable insecticide against armyworm mortality. The
experimental design used a completely randomized design (CRD), with treatments in the
form of bandotan leaf extract with concentrations of 0%, 10%, 15%, and 20%. Each
treatment was replicated 3 times. Parameters observed were armyworm mortality at 72
hours after treatment. The data obtained were analyzed using Anova and continued with
the DMRT test. The results showed that bandotan leaf extract had an effect on armyworm
mortality. The extract concentration of 20% was able to cause the highest armyworm
mortality, reaching 66.67%. This yield was higher than that of legetan leaf extract, but it
could not be categorized as effective.
