Abstract

Road performance is the ability of a road to serve the flow of traffic that occurs on these roads. However, if there are many side obstacles, the performance of the road will decrease. One that causes a decrease in road performance is due to market activities. In front of the Cerme Purwosari Market there are frequent traffic jams in the morning due to a decrease in road performance. This happened because of the lack of market land so that some of Cerme Purwosari's market activities were beside the road. The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of side barriers due to market activity on road capacity and to know the effect of market activities on the road that are reviewed based on the V / C ratio. The method used is a calculation according to the Indonesian Road Capacity Manual (MKJI) 1997. As a result of market activities that use part of the road as a place to sell it results in an increase in side barriers, this is indicated by higher morning barriers than day and evening. At the time of market activity the highest ratio value is 0.507, indicating that there is no capacity problem.
