Abstract

The study aimed to: 1) discover the socio-economic factors which support and inhibit handicraft producers from coconut waste to develop entrepreneurship in the Manunggal Karya group by Purbalingga Wetan 2) present the problems and solutions faced by handicraft producers from coconut waste in developing entrepreneurship in Manunggal Karya group Purbalingga Wetan 3) determine the entrepreneurial conditions of handicraft producers from coconut waste in the Manunggal Karya group in Purbalingga Wetan. The study was conducted from July 2018 to January 2019 in Manunggal Karya group in Purbalingga Wetan Village, Purbalingga District, Purbalingga Regency. The sample was selected by purposive sampling with the determination of criteria, and it showed that there were 15 people of coconut waste craft producers. The types of data collected were primary data and secondary data. The analysis used was descriptive analysis and quantitative data. The characteristics of coconut waste craftsmen respondents were male, range 60 - 69 years old, junior high school education level. The supported social factors in descriptive analysis of social and economic factors were education level, social factor was based on business duration, and economic factor was seen from competition, tastes, and other products. The social and economic factors that impeded the social factors were population based on age level, and selling price. The problems faced were capital and labor. It was suggested that the capital conducted several alternatives including: working with third parties with profit sharing according to the agreement, borrowing capital from a bank. For workers, it was suggested to have more socialization, conduct skills training, apply labor training.
