Abstract
Foundation is a part of the lower structure that is very vital (important) to
support the burden of the building above it, so the foundation is designed in such
a way as to be able to support and channel loads to the subgrade with the best.
To ensure stability and failure of construction, the foundation of the building
must be placed in a hard, dense, and strong soil layer that supports the load of
the building without causing excessive reduction. This study was intended to
determine the soil carrying capacity and the decline that occurred in the
Randudongkal Market rehabilitation project, using the Terzaghi theory for soil
carrying capacity and Shemertmann's theory for the immediate reduction of
static cone penetration test results. Based on the results of the analysis on the
Randudongkal market rehabilitation project located in Pemalang District,
Central Java, it shows that soil carrying capacity that occurs on F1 type
foundation is (qa) 6133.21 kN / m2, type F2 is (qa) 5903.63 kN / m2, F3 and F4
of (qa) 7117.18 kN / m2. With settlement foundation of type F1 (Se) 4 mm, type
F2 (Se) 7 mm, type F3 and F4 2 mm. This condition is quite adequate in terms of
carrying capacity which gives the maximum value of soil stress lower than the
permit carrying capacity and the decrease that occurs is not too large when
compared to the decrease in the nearby foundation.
