Abstract
There are still many web services that improve web services that have a high amount of traffic. Increasing the amount of traffic that causes the work server that serves the request to be more severe Server performance decreases and frequent interruptions in these web services. If not approved, this can be resolved by the system or the website is down / down. Load balancing web server is a technique to complete the traffic load on two or more balanced connection lines, so that traffic can run optimally. This load balance technique is transparent to users who make server load balance requests. There are some of the servers that operate behind the address. One needs a development server. The Purworejo district village service system is a web-based application designed to store and manage village information and services in Purworejo district. The lack of stable speed of access to this website is one of the challenges developed by users when working with this website. With equitable access from each server that is stable it can support and facilitate users in the process, and vice versa. Web server load balancing method based on open source is the main choice for use on the Ubuntu desktop operating system. By using and implementing virtualization in the Oracle VM VirtualBox and using the Nginx web load balancing server, web server loads when requests are higher because the number of users accessed at once in the same time period can be used so that web server traffic is not too heavy. This is intended so that the application speed can run quickly and stably because 3 servers can run simultaneously on 1 server load balancing algorithm with round roubin algorithm and the least connection algorithm. In this study the results of using the least connection algorithm for load balancing provide more good performance compared to the round robin algorithm on the speed of website access when there are very many requests from users at the same time.
