Abstract

The road section of Jenderal Soedirman is a road section in Sokaraja and it’s connecting between Purbalingga and Banyumas, so that there is often a long traffic jam here. This is caused by the large volume of vehicles, which affects the performance of the road. This research aims to determine how the road performance from Jenderal Soedirman Sokaraja road section. The method that use to analyze the performance of roads is Indonesia road capacity manual 1997 especially for the city roads. The survey is conducted for 3 days in a week on the 13th, 14th and 15th April, 2019 from Saturday, Sunday and Monda. From the survey, it can be conclude that in 2019, the degree of saturation was 0,82 its mean the the performance of the road is not stable with the level of service at D and the scenario is carried out by widening the road from 7 meters to 9 meters so that the degree of saturation is 0,71 so the road performance becomes stable with the level of service C. After analysis in 2024 obtained a degree of saturation of 0,90, the road performance became unstable with the level of service E and the scenario was carried out the expand the road to 11 meters, roadside become 1,5 meters, to do a one-way road to Kauman road, the implementation of vehicle parking restrictions and restriction on large truck and large bus, so that the degree of saturation can be obtained to 0,74 the road performance becomes stable with the service level C.
