This study aimed to analyze the effectiveness of the metaphorical thinking approach on students' mathematical creative thinking skills. The design of this study used the post-test only control group design method. Sampling is done by cluster random sampling technique obtained class VIII C as an experimental class and class VIII D as a control class. The results of the post-test mathematical creative thinking skills showed that the average score was 73.06 in experimental class and 66.81 in the control class. After testing the hypothesis with an independent sample t-test, a sig value of 0.006 using α = 0.05 was obtained. Therefore, it was concluded that the metaphorical thinking approach is effective to the students' mathematical creative thinking skills, especially to female students with high achievement.
