Abstract

Komisaris Bambang Suprapto Purwokerto Street road section is a two-way, two-lane, two-lane urban road with width of 5 meters and length of 1.2 kilometers. The high activity on the side of the road such as pedestrians, vehicles that often go in and out of the side of the road segment, stop and park vehicles, and non-motorized vehicles, especially at certain hours eventually affects the traffic speed which ultimately results in congestion, therefore it is necessary to research the effect of side friction on Komisaris Bambang Suprapto Purwokerto Street road section’s speed. This study aims to find out the effect of side friction events on the traffic speed of Komisaris Bambang Suprapto Purwokerto Street road section. This research method was carried out by traffic velocity and side friction events survey for 3 days in the morning, afternoon and evening with time intervals 15 minutes for 4 hours. The data obtained is then analyzed using multiple linear regression methods. The results obtained from data analysis using multiple linear regression methods with stepwise methods obtained the best equation model Y = 27,715 – 0,181X2 with R² at 0,681 on Saturday for the A / West – East side speed, and Y = 26,594 – 0,202X1 – 0,032X3 with R2 at 0,768 on Saturday for the B / East – West side speed. Factors that influence including parking and stopping vehicles (X2) for the A / West - East side, and pedestrians (X1), vehicles that often enter the side area of road segment (X3) for the B / East - West side.
