Abstract
With the good quality of the internet, this can help and support the pre-facilities in processing data and exchanging information. One of them is at Muhammadiyah University of Purwokerto, is one of the Muhammadiyah universities in Purwokerto that uses internet network services to support the ongoing process of academic activities. Because at this time the internet network is very needed by students, lecturers, or employees at Muhammadiyah University Purwokerto. Global System for Mobile (GSM) is a second generation cellular system standard developed to solve fragmentation problems in the first cellular system standard in Europe, and became the first cellular system to use digital modulation techniques and use multilevel service architecture. GSM network area based on geographic area which includes cell area, location area (AL), MSC / VLR service area, and Public Location Mobile Network (PLMN) area. Cells are an area of radio networks provided by one base transceiver station. Each of these cells is identified through the Cell Global Identity (CGI) number identified in each cell. Whereas the location area (AL) is a collection of several cells. In this study, we will analyze the comparison of the throughput speed on the GSM network to determine which internet service quality has the fastest access in the Muhammadiyah University of Purwokerto neighborhood. As well as normality test, homogeneity test and ANOVA test to analyze the research data. Based on the tests that have been carried out, it can be seen that the Telkomsel provider has the largest download speed of 7373.026645333334 bit / s. Meanwhile the Indosat provider has the largest upload speed with a value of 119662.533202666640 bit / s.
