Abstract
The aim of this research was to find out the effectiveness of “Scraps-Made Realia” in teaching writing descriptive text. The treatment was conducted from 17th until 29th of January 2019. This experimental research involved experimental class consisting 30 students and 28 students for control class at junior high school 2 of Sokaraja academic year 2018/2019. The experimental class was VIII E and the control class was VIII D. The test that for collecting data used pre-test and post-test. The test was writing descriptive text about things. To analyse the data the researcher used T-test formula. Based on the calculation, t-test result was 4.463 and t-table for the degree of freedom 56 at the level significant 0.05 was 1.673. It showed that t-test result was higher than t-table (4.463>1.673). Based on the research result, it can be concluded that Scraps-Made Realia was effective in teaching writing descriptive text.
