This study aims to determine how the impact of parents as
Female Migrant Worker (FMW) on social skills and motivation to
learn in their children.
The approach in this study uses a qualitative approach with
descriptive methods. The study population is in SMPN 2 Tanjung with
a sample of 5 students whose children have left their mothers working
abroad as Female Migrant Worker (FMW obtained by purpose
sampling technique. Data collection techniques used in this study were
observation, interviews and document studies. The data obtained were
then analyzed using descriptive analysis.
Based on the results of research that has been done, the social
skills of children left by their mothers to work abroad both in their
interactions in the family, community and school are relatively low.
These social skills have an impact on low social skills, which in turn
also affect their motivation to learn both at home and at school.
