Abstract

This study aimed to determine and reveal the profile of fish reproduction at the Logawa River in Banyumas Regency in 2019. The study was conducted by using a survey method with purposive random sampling technique. Sampling was carried out six times at one month intervals (January to June 2019). The sampling was carried out in three locations namely Babakan Village (upstream), Kediri Village (middle), and Patikraja Village (Downstream). Waters quality, sex ratio, Gonad Maturity Level (TKG), Gonad Maturity Index (IKG) and fish egg fecundity were analyzed descriptively. The results showed that there were seven out of 17 species of fish whose sex ratio could be calculated in the range of 0.07-5.55%, while the ratio of male and female fish was not balanced, which was as much as 1.68: 1. There were 9 species of fish that could be analyzed for TKG , IKG, and the calculated fecundity. TKG values were obtained by several levels starting from TKG I, II, III, and IV. IKG values were in the average range less than 20%, it meant that the fish could spawn more than once a year. The average value of obtained fecundity ranged between 134-6.676 items. The results of the analysis of water quality including the quality of physics, chemistry, and biology indicated that the waters of the Logawa River at Banyumas Regency in 2019 remained in the good category and were suitable for fish life.
