This purpose of this research was to examine the effect of partially and
simultaneously independent variables life style, conformity, self concept, and
economic literacy toward the dependent variable consumptive behaviour. The
population in this research were 6368 students of the Faculty of Economics in
Purwokerto. Purposive sampling is a used on this study as the sample selection.
Based on the criteria, 115 respondents were chosen as a samples. The data
analysis technique that used is in this research was instruments test, descriptive
statistics, validity test , reliability test, classical assumption tests, multiple
regression analysis, and hypothesis testing. The results showed that partially life
style has a positive and significant effect on consumptive behaviour, conformity
has a positive and significant effect on consumptive behaviour, self concept has a
negative and significant effect, economic literacy has a positive and significant
effect on consumptive behaviour. Life style, conformity, self concept, and
economic literacy simultaneously influences the consumptive behaviour.
