The study was aimed at describing the images of women in the collection
of short stories Perempuan dan Bunga-bunga by Budi Saputra and friends by
using literary feminism approach. Qualitative approach was used in this study.
The data were text or quotes that contained the image of short stories Perempuan
dan bunga-bunga. The data sources were ten short stories. Literary feminism
approach was used in this study. The result showed that the image of female
figure included, (1) the image of women based on physical aspect, in the form of
beautiful women, and pregnant women, (2) the image of women based on
physicological aspects, in the form grateful women, brave women, brave women,
women who had moral norms, responsible women, women who were ready marry,
and independent women, (3) the image of women based on family aspects, in the
form of women as mothers, children, siblings, and wives. And (4) the image of
women based on community aspects, in the form women having social life, and as
a career woman. The four aspects were a unit that was related to build the image
and selfhood of female figure.
