Abstract

This research is aimed at describing and investigating the effectiveness of spindle box media on the understanding ability of numerical concept performed by early childhood. The hypothesis proposed in this research is the effectiveness of spindle box on the understanding ability of numerical concept performed by students in TK Aisyiyah Bustanul Athfal Ledug. The population in this research was a class of students in TK Aisyiyah Bustanul Athfal Ledug, Kembaran, Banyumas in the even semester of academic year 2017/2018. The sample was a group of 19 students in class A of TK Aisyiyah Bustanul Atfhal Ledug. This research used the mixed-method approach with the Preexperimental design covering One-Group Pre-test Post-test design. The data were collected through observations and documentations. The data were analyzed using Ttest. The data collected through the observations were validated using the single test trial technique. According to the result of the analysis, it is gained that ttest > ttable with sig. 5%, ttest > ttable is 22.32 > 1.7341 (5%) and 22.32 > 2.5524 (1%). It means that Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted. In the other words, the spindle box' media is significantly effective to improve the understanding ability of numerical concept on the early childhood.
