The populations were 264 eight grade students of SMPN 5 Purwokerto. Purposive random sampling was the sampling technique of this reseach. The samples of the research were 65 students. The techniques of data collection used were questionnaire and interview. The results showed that: 1) the type of written corrective feedback; 94.21% of the students mostly preferred direct feedback, because the students only rewrote the correct answer which was given by the teacher, 2) the way of giving direct feedback;99.10 % of students mostly preferred inserting missing word, but in interview result the students preferred circling the errors, because the students had already accustomed to using circle as the sign of their errors, 3) the way of giving indirect feedback; more than 40% (40.27%) of students agreed with circling the error without getting the correct answer, but in interview results the students preferred on codes/symbols because the students only revised the error which was given the codes/symbols,4) giving feedback on writing aspects; 95.90% of students preferred when the teacher gave feedback on organization, but in interview results the students preferred on vocabulary and on content because they would have much new vocabularies and would know whether their ideas were good or not.
