Abstract

This study aims to determine wheher the abilit of mathematical exploration of students who follow the lesson Discourse Multy Reprsentacy better than the ability of mathematical exploration of students who follow the direct learning.the research design used is post test only control design. This research uses experimental research. Sampling using cluster random sampling by taking two classes that is, class VII C as experimental class and VII B as control class. The location of the research is SMP Negeri 4 Sumbang. In order to obtain the data used post test problem of mathematical exploration ability, post test problem in the form of description. Post test result of mathematikcal exploration ability showed experiment class average of 52,66, while control class equal to 42,51. In addition, the hypothesis test value is obtained by using independent-sample t-test as follows, Sig. = 0.004 / 2 = 0.002 with alpha = 0.05 which means Sig <0.05 or Ho is rejected, and can conclude that the mathematical exploration ability of students who follow the learning of Discourse Multy Representacy is better than the students' mathematical exploration ability following the direct learning.
