Abstract

Antioxidant compounds can reduce the adverse effects of radical bebar on the skin. Kiwi fruit extract (Actinidia chinensis Planch) contains many antioxidant compounds such as antocyanidine, flavan-3-ol, flavanone, flavone, dan flavonols. The results showed that ethanol extract of Kiwi fruit had free radical capture activity against DPPH ((1,1-defenil-2-pikrilhidrazil) which in IC50 was 7,2 ppm. This research is intended to know the activity of free radical capture to DPPH and physical properties of peel-off antioxidant gel mask of ethanol extract of Kiwi fruit. The antioxidant activity test was performed by DPPH method. Kiwi fruit is extracted by using ethanol 95% solvent with maceration method. The ethanol extract of kiwi fruit was then formulated into peel-off gel mask with concentrations of 1,2, and 3% extracts. The results showed that gel peel-off ethanol extract of kiwi fruit with extract concentrations of 1,2, and 3% had IC50 value 59,923 ppm; 18,914 ppm; and 11,585 ppm and belongs to a very powerful antioxidant.
