Abstract

This research aimed at finding out the growth and result of Ong Choy Water Spinach toward watering volume and media combination of soil and charcoal husk. This research was conducted for 2 months starting from Decemberto January 2018, at green house Pertanian Universitas Muhammadiyah Purwokerto. The method of the research was complete random design with 2 treatment factors, those were growing media and watering volume. The combinations of soil and charcoal husk were 100%v/v (M1), 50%v/v (M2)m 75%-25%v/v(M3), 25%-75%v/v (M4, 100%v/v (M5). The watering volume was divided into 600 ml/polybag (V1),400ml/polybag (V2), 200 ml/polybag (V3). The treatments were repeated 3 times (45 experiments). There were 3 samples for each unit, therefore there were 135 experiments. The result showed that watering volume had significant effect on the plant's height, leaf number, leaf wide, stem diameter, shoot fresh weight, shoot dry weight, root fresh weight, and root dry weight. The combination of soil and charcoal husk had very significant effect on the variable of plant height, leaf number, leaf wide, stem diameter, shoot fresh weight, shoot dry weight, and root fresh weight. The combination of soil and charcoal husk had significant effect on the variable of root dry weight. The interaction between watering volume and the combination of soil and charcoal husk had very significant result on the variable of plant height, leaf number, leaf wide, stem diameter, shoot fresh weight, shoot dry weight, root fresh weight. The interaction between watering volume and the combination of soil and charcoal husk had significant result on the variable of root dry weight.
