Abstract

Theobjectiveoftheresearchwastorevealtheconstraintsfacedbythe teachersin implementing authenticassessmentviewed from curriculum 2013 in SMK Negeri1 Banyumas.The method ofthis research was descriptivequalitativestudy.TheparticipantsofthestudyweretwoEnglish teachers who are experienced in teaching English more than two departmentsinavocationalschool.Interviewandobservationwereusedto collectthedata.Interview wasgiventotheteacherstoknow whattheir opinionaboutimplementingauthenticassessmentviewedfrom curriculum 2013.Observationwasdonetoobservetheimplementationofauthentic assessmentin English learning process.Having collected the data,the researcheranalyzedthem throughdatareductionanddatapresentation. From the data analysis,the constraints of implementing authentic assessmentviewedfrom curriculum 2013arelimitedtimetoimplement authenticassessmentandtoomanyinstrumentsofauthenticassessment itself.Moreover,limitedtimestoimplementtheassessmentcausedthe teachermanipulatedtheassessment.
