Abstract

A text book is one of determining success factors in the class. Therefore, The government and teachers should provide and facilitate students with a propher handout in schools. Hovewer, there are still so many teachers consider that their text book are good and worth to use without analysizing the content of material, language, and readability first. The research is aimed to analize an Indonesian SMA X text book according to Curriculum 2013 viewing from the material content, language, and readability aspects. The data source of the research is from an Indonesian SMA X Text Book published by the government in 2013. The research method used is content analysis. The data collecting technique is documentation by using an evaluation sheet of Indonesian teks book from Pusat Perbukuan Nasional (Center of National Book). It is used for measuring aspects of material contents and language. Meanwhile, Formula Indeks Fog is used for measuring the level of readability. Data is interpretated by using reducting, displaying, verifiying data and finnaly is made conclusion. Results have shown that the percentage of average score is 91.15 for material contents and 88.90 for language aspects. Both scores are included in very good category. Whereas, The aspect of readability is in very high category. It means that the texts in the book are easy to understand. It can be concluded that the text book have already fulfilled aspects of material contents, language, and readability according to curriculum 2013 and BNSP. It is worth to use as a handout for teachers and students of SMA X.
