Abstract

The aim of this research was to know the correlation between the learning process and the motivation to learn Pancasila and civic education subject with the critical thinking skill on the student of grade XI in SMK N 1 Kalibagor in academic year 2014-2015. This was a product moment co-relation research which involved the subject from grade XI comprising of 346 students. The 100 samples were chosen using cluster technique from class TPHP 1, ATPH2, and MP2. To test the validity, it was used Product Moment Correlation analysis, and alpha formula was used to test the reliability. The data were then analyzed using Product Moment analysis with the significant level of 5%. The result of this research showed that in the first hypothesis, there was a significant correlation with obtained (r)> table=(0,270> 0,195); in the second hypothesis, there was a significant correlation with obtained (r)> table=(0,560> 0.195); in the second hypothesis, there was a significant correlation with obtained F of 23,181, while F table of 3,94 with N=100 and significant level of 5%. Therefore, the obtained F was higher than table (23,181>3,94). The result of this research showed a positive and significant correlation meaning that all hypotheses were proven in this reseach. In conclusion, when the learning process is done well, it will trigger the students’ high motivation to learn which result to the enhancement of the students’ critical thinking ability.
