Abstract

The aim of this research was to find out whether or not there was any effect of the use of change chairs game in teaching English vocabulary of students especially of eighth graders. This research was conducted in one of the junior high school in Kalibagor in academic year 2014 / 2015. The participants of this research were the eighth graders in one of junior high school in Kalibagor. There were two classes of which class B was used as a control class and class C was used as the experimental class. Test was used to collect data of this research, namely pre-test and post-test. The test consisted of multiple choice items and jumble letter. Based on the computation, the t-test result was 2.54 and r-table was 1.6715 at the significant level was 0.05 with the degree of freedom 58. The t-obtained was higher than t-table (2.54> 1.6715). Based on the research result, it showed that Change Chairs Game was effective for teaching English vocabulary of students in SMP N 3 Kalibagor in academic year 2014 / 2015.
