Abstract

The research was aimed to describe Problem Based Learning to the mathematic problem solving skill for the students of SMPN 1 Banyumas. The researcher applied observation to collect the data by describing the indicators of input, process, output, and time, as well as doing interview to the teachers and students. This was qualitative research. The research showed that: (1) the input was available and appropriate, (2) process was implemented and appropriate, (3) output was no achieved, (4) time could be implemented as it was planned. Based on the stated criteria, it could be drawn that Problem Based Learning was not effective to the mathematics problem solving skill in SMPN 1 Banyumas.
