Abstract
The study was aimed at finding out whdether or not the competence of the students attending the learning strategy of problem posing of pre solution posing type is better than those joining the same learning strategy of post solution posing type. The sampling was done using cluster random sampling. The population wass the entire eight graders at a Junior High School of SMP Negeri 1 Banyumas, and the samples were the students of H group taken as the experiment class 1 and those of G group treated as the experiment class 2. The former was taught using the pre solution posing type and the latter used the post solution posing type. The method of comparative test of two sample was Independent Sample ttest. Based on the analysis, it is found out that the average score of the experiment class 1 was 74,75 and that of the experiment class 2 was 70,59. The result of t test analysis of two independent samples shows a sig.(one tailed) = 0,0185 < 0,05. This proves that the competence of the students using pre solution posing type is better than those treated with the post solution posing type.
