Abstract

This classroom action research aims to improve the student’s civic education learning outcomes on the basic competence of describing Indonesian Government System and the role of state board as the implementation of the sovereignty through model Problem Based Instruction (PBI). The subject of this research was the students of class VIII B SMP Negeri Purwojati in Even Semester Academic Year 2014/2015 with 32 students. This research was held in 2 cycles consisting of 2 meetings. The procedure of the research in each cycle was planing, acting, obseving and reflecting. The method of colecting the data was gained from the rusult of the test and studenst and teacher’s observation. The analysis used in thisresearch was the percentage analysis with table and diagram. The result of the research showed that there was 0 student or 0% who had completed the learning mastery, then it in creased to 27 student or 84.73% for the test in cycle I. In cycle II, it got the perfect number, it achieved 32 student of 100% who had completed the learningmastery. Therefore, it could be concluded that PBI learning model could improve students’ civic education learning outcomes on sovereignty of the people and Government of Indonesian System in Class VIII B SMP Negeri 2 Purwojati in even Semester.
