Abstract

This research was conducted based on the lack of VIII E grade students’ mastery in learning concept and the lack of the learning result tobasic competence explaining the Essence of Democracy. The aim of this research is to improve the learning result in PPKn through Inquiry Approach explaining the Essence of Democracy of grade VIII E students of SMP N 2 Sokaraja second semester academic 2014/2015. This research is Classroom Action Research including planning, acting, observing and reflecting conducted in two cycles. The subject was VIII Egrade students of SMP N 2 Sokaraja consisting of 34 students. To get data, it was used observation, written test and interview. To analyze the data, it was used descriptive quantitative method while in analyzing the learning result, it was used percentage formula. The result of this research was showed by the improvement of the learning result namely 73.52%from the beginning condition to cycle I, 26.47% from cycle I to cycle II. The average scores of class improved from the beginning condition to cycle I, namely 45.59 and from cycle I to cycle II, namely 3.82. From the percentage of the completeness in each cycle, there are 25 students (73.52%) in cycle I, and 34 students (100%) in cycle II.
