Abstract
A Study on the effect of exudate snake head fish (Channa striata) concerning new
wound healing to Mice Male Balb/c.
By Lukman Hakim under the guidance of NUNUK ARIES NURULITA and
SABIKIS
Background of the study: A study of snake head fish (Channa striata) has many
benefits for health. Based on the empirical data showed that (Channa striata)
usually used for additional or supplementary therapy after post-surgery. Based on
the previous study showed that (Channa striata) has fatty acids and amino acids
that are assumed to affect the speed up of wound healing. Arachidonic acid
(PUFA), Zinc and Cu are found in the extract of Channa striata.
Objective of the study: The aim of this study was to know or determine the
potential of exudates snake head fish (Channa striata) as a wound healer.
The method of the study: The method of this study was used a complete
randomized experimental design. The technique of taking the exudate of snake
head fish was used oven at temperatures of 100 ° C. Eighteen Balb/c mice were
divided into 3 groups. The treatment group was given snake head fish, positive
control group was given the gel bioplacenton, and a negative control without
giving anything. The fifth and seventh days, histopathology was tested to
determine the number of fibroblasts. The length of wound closure in mice was
measured every day.
Result of the study: snake head fish exudates increase the acceleration of wound
closure and could increase the number of fibroblasts in the 5th and 7th days.
Conclusion: The exudate of snake head fish (Channa striata was effective to
increase the acceleration of wound healing with wound closure and increased the
number of fibroblasts.
