Abstract

The aim of this research was to find out whether or not there was any effect of the use of what’s missing game in teaching English vocabulary of students especially of seventh graders. This research was conducted in one of the junior high school in Banyumas in academic year 2014 / 2015. The participants of this research were the seventh graders in one of junior high school in Banyumas. There were two classes of which class A was used as a control class and class B was used as the experimental class. Test was used in collecting the data of this research, namely pre-test and post-test. The test consisted of multiple choice items. Based on the computation, t-test result was 2.60 and the result of r-table at the significant level 0.05 with the degree of freedom 58 was 1.6715. the calculation of t-obtained was higher than t-table (2.60 > 1.6715). Based on the research result, it showed that What’s Missing Game was effective for teaching English vocabulary of students in SMP N 2 Banyumas in academic year 2014 / 2015.
