Abstract

The aim of this study is to improve the ability of students’s application on mathematics in grade XI-TO1 SMK Ma’arif 1 Kroya through Problem Based Learning (PBL). The subjects of this study were students of class XI-TO1 SMK Ma’arif 1 Kroya totaling 37 students are all male. This study is an action research conducted in three cycles with each cycle consisting of 2 meetings. The first meeting is used for learning process and the evaluation tests held at the end of the cycle. Each cycle includes planning, implementation, observation and reflection. The results of mathematical application ability test cycle I founded that an average score for each indicator is 2.56 with the criteria quite well, and it increase in the second cycle with 2.76 with quite well criteria and increase again in the third cycle with 2.90 with good criteria. It can be concluded that the Problem Based Learning can improve the ability of students’ application mathematics in grade XI-TO1 SMK Ma’arif 1 Kroya.
