Abstract

This study aims to analyze whether Advance Organizer learning model and Concrete-Pictorial-Abstract (CPA) approach has an effect on students' ability in mathematical analogy. post-test only control design is used in this research, and the population are all students of class VIII SMP Negeri 2 Sokaraja. The Side random cluster is determined as the sampling technique which obtained two sample classes, class VIII A as a control class with direct learning and class VIII B as an experimental class with Advance Organizer learning with Concrete-Pictorial-Abstract (CPA) approach. The results show that the mathematical analogy ability of students who joined the Advance Organizer learning with Concrete-Pictorial-Abstract (CPA) approach is better than the mathematical analogy of the students who join direct learning, or in other words, Advance Organizer learning with Concrete-Pictorial- Abstract CPA) affects students' ability in mathematical analogy at the eight grade of SMP Negeri 2 Sokaraja.
