Abstract

This study aims to improve the students’ understanding of mathematical concepts on rectangular subjects through learning posing problems. The subjects of this study are students of class VII C MTs Negeri Nusawungu which amounted to 32 students consisting of 19 male students and 13 female students. This study is a classroom action research conducted in 3 cycles where each cycle consists of planning, implementation, observation and reflection. To obtain data of understanding ability of student mathematics concept, in this research use test given every end of cycle. Based on the result of the research, the average score of the students’ comprehension ability in the first cycle is 55,29 with enough criterion, second cycle is 72,7 with good criterion and at cycle III equal to 86,4 with very good criterion. It can be concluded that the average score of students’ mathematical concepts increased.
