Abstract

This research aims to increase awareness of the environment through gardening methods in early childhood preschool Tunas Bangsa Village Kedungbanteng Kedungbanteng Banyumas district Semester School Year 2012-2013. The subjects were a group of students playing Tunas Bangsa Village District KedungbantengKedungbanteng totaling 20 children, consisting of 10 boys and 10 girls. Data collection instrument in this study using observation sheets and photo documentation of activities. The research was conducted by the method of Classroom Action Research (CAR) through 2 cycles, each cycle consisting of 3 meetings. Each activity uses SKH and pad the end of the cycle is done reflection. This study uses descriptive and qualitative data analysis. The results on the initial conditions, children who are developing very well be as many as 5 children or by 25%, growing as much as expected 2 children or by 10%, the child begins to develop as many as 3 or 15%, and that has not developed as many as 10 children or for 50%. Having held Classroom Action Research in the first cycle, increasing the child's success is a child 8 or by 40% developed very well, 4 children or grown by 20% as expected, or as many as 5 children began to grow by 25%, and 3 children or for 15% undeveloped and still need guidance from teachers. Then when carrying out repairs to the second cycle, environmental awareness in children is increasing optimally be as many as 16 children or 80% developed very well, 3 kids or grown by 15% as expected, there is only 1 child or 5% that began to develop, and there is no child who has not developed in this activity. So according to the results obtained there were 19 children or 95% were successful and only 1 child or 5% undeveloped. The results are very good if teachers follow up the implementation of learning activities through the medium of gardening, of course with a more varied so as to stimulate the creativity of children and teachers themselves.
