Abstract

The aim of the research was to know whether teaching WH-Question using pictures was effective. The research was conducted at the Eleventh graders of SMK N 2 Banyumas in Academic Year 2013/2014.The population of te research was the eleventh graders of SMK N 2 Banyumas in Academic Year 2013/2014 consisting of 96 students. The research employed Quasi-Experimental design as the sampling technique and the sample was XI AV-1 Consisting of 32 students as the control class and XI AV-2 consisting of 32 students as the experiment class. The research used the result of Pre-Test and Post-Test data as the primary data. The result of the research showed that there was significant difference between pre-test and post-test of the experimental class 51.34 and 73.78 respectively Meanwhile, those of the control class were 67.56 and 73.69. In addition, the t test result was 3.836. It was higher than the t-table, 1.670. It indicates that the result was significant. Therefore, the hypothesis which states that pictures was effective for teaching WH-Question was accepted.
