Abstract

This research was aimed to recognize the promotion techniques, communication process in promoting, and promotion costs of processed coconut shell souvenir’s sellers at Baturaden Tourism’s Market, Baturaden Distric, Banyumas Regency. Descriptive method was used in this research. This research was conducted at Baturaden Tourism’s Market, Baturaden Distric, Banyumas Regency. Purposive sampling was used in choosing the location of research’s. Respondents were chosen by using Purposive sampling. There were 15 respondents of souvenir sellers that met the criteria. This research was done in 17 months, from March 2015 up to August 2016. The result shows that there are four promotion techniques used by the souvenir’s sellers. Those techniques are advertising technique, direct marketing, sales promotion, and trade promotion. The communication process on advertising technique, direct marketing, sales promotion only has one communication process’ step, whereas the communication process on trade promotion has twocommunication process’ steps. The promotion cost on the adversiting technique is Rp. 125.000,-for banner, on direct marketing technique is Rp. 15.000,-/week for transportation’s fuel, the cost usedby whole selleron sales promotion technique isRp. 500,-, and the cost spent by the peddler is Rp. 1.667,-as a discount per souvenir.
